Surgical Services Image

John Muir Medical Center, Concord Campus and John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek Campus offer a full range of videoscopic procedures encompassing laparoscopic, advanced laparoscopic, and thoracoscopic surgeries. Among the many surgeries that can be performed at the two medical centers are anti-reflux (for heartburn or acid regurgitation) procedures, gynecologic and nephrectomy procedures, colon resections, spleen and adrenal gland removal, as well as the more basic procedures such as gall bladder removal, hernia repair, and appendix removal.

Earlier recovery and rapid return to work are among the advantages of videoscopic, or "closed" surgical procedures, which can be performed using smaller incisions. Less postoperative pain and better cosmetic results (tiny scars) are further advantages of these advanced minimally invasive procedures.

New surgery suites at both medical centers enhance their capabilities by offering the latest technology for performing videoscopic procedures. The new operating suites are equipped with robotics, voice-activated systems, ceiling mounted monitors, video camera equipment, and lighting mounted on movable booms.
